Many couples aspire to a festival style wedding but struggle to find the land to make their dreams a reality. In South Wales there are not many places where you can hire a suitable piece of land for a week and have a big old wedding party!
Practical factors to consider when looking for such land are firstly whether it is well drained and flat, as the Marquee floor is only as good as the land it sits on. Your site necessities such as Generators and Toilets will all be delivered in large vans or on trailers and they need to get on and off your field, so you need a decent road that takes you to the field. If the field can get very muddy you may also need tracking laid down so that vehicles can come and go without creating a mud bath for your guests. If the field is used for grazing animals then it will need to be mowed by a farmer with specialised equipment to ensure it's comfortable to walk on...cow pats, sheep poo may need to be removed before the wedding! That's a brief run down of field requirements...
Which brings me onto Tamsin & Dusty's wedding last year!
Tamsin & Dusty live in a rural area, and have a very obliging farmer friend as their neighbour, win! This farmer happily let them use his sheep field which was next to their house. It had amazing sea views and he prepared the field for them, I also heard he was one of the last to leave the party. It doesn't get much better than that.
What was important to Tamsin & Dusty as a couple was to bring everyone they loved together to celebrate their wedding with incredible food and an awesome party to remember! They hired our 12x12 Star Marquee with full wooden floor, rustic wooden furniture, outdoor canopy, festoon lighting and fire pit. Roland managed the site for them on the day, and was dragged onto the dance floor at night!
Tamsin had great vision for the styling of the space and we worked together to commission some tassle bunting in warm muted colours that worked beautifully in the Marquee, the pops of metallic from the balloons Tamsin chose really set it off!
They had the incredible Anand George cater their wedding. Anand is an award winning Chef based in Cardiff and originally from Kerala. Anand runs a few exceptional eateries in Cardiff including the Purple Poppadum and Chai Street. From personal experience I'd say this is some of the best Indian food you will ever eat! Here is the food truck they served the wedding breakfast from..this was not your average wedding roast.
Here's what Tamsin had to say about our service..
"Just wanted to also take a moment to say a huge thank you. You made the wedding of our dreams come true. No task was too big or too small for Roland and he is a true legend! We want to throw a party like this again and will not hesitate to come back to you as you went above and beyond our expectations. "
